Are you truly unhappy or just slightly dissatisfied? Maybe you are in a rut and will snap out of it. Or maybe not. Here are five more signs you might be experiencing genuine unhappiness.  


If you have experienced depression, you have probably felt these symptoms. They can be reoccurring with depression. Look at these as signals something needs to be changed.



Feeling helpless

You?d like to change your life but are not sure that you can. Something else controls your life. Whether it be fate, circumstances, God, whatever, but you are not feeling in control. Nothing changes no matter what you could do, so why try. Many people experience this feeling of being helpless.



Random physical issues keep occurring

A common sign of unhappiness are physical ailments that can include fatigue, stomach upset, weight gain or loss, insomnia, and strange pains. Your doctor is not finding anything physically wrong. It?s not your body; it?s your mind trying to get your attention.



You feel like you and your life don?t matter

The world is too big to be bothered with you 'small' issues. More important things that need to be worried about than your life. This can be a symptom of both unhappiness and depression, and either way, it?s wrong. You actually matter!



You try to be perfect

Do you try to cope with unhappiness by being perfect? Are you always trying to make everything perfect, no matter how big or small it is? Excess perfectionism is a sign that your mind doesn?t want to deal with something. It?s time to have a heart-to-heart with yourself.



You numb yourself with distractions

An age-old negative coping mechanism for chronic unhappiness is distractions used to fill the void. These may include food, sex, drugs, alcohol, exercise, TV, or plain old busyness. These things just numb you, so you don?t feel the pain of truly being unhappy.



You know.... you don?t have be unsatisfied or unhappy with your life. Why accept this feeling if you don?t have to. You truly do have the power and control of your life to be able to make it exactly what you want. Don?t waste your life. Take charge of it today!
