Simple Ways to Be Happier



Radical changes to your life are not necessarily required to be happy. That can be part of the equation, and you will undoubtedly be much happier if you go after your dreams instead of settling for a mediocre life.


Life is long and it isn?t just lived in the big moments we love to celebrate, such as weddings, graduations, baby showers, and the like. Life is mostly made up of little moments, small things that piece together a day, and days that piece together weeks, months, and years.





In order to live the happiest life possible, you need to enjoy these simple moments and find happiness in them too. Here are some simple ways to make your life happier in the day to day.



Enjoy Your Favorite Beverage or Meal

Take time out often to have your favorite drink or make your favorite meal, and make sure to savor and enjoy every sip or bite. It doesn?t matter it is, but it does matter that you take the time to really enjoy it. 




Listen to Music and Dance

There?s something about music and dancing that lifts the spirits of even the most curmudgeonly among us. Make time for a regular impromptu dance part and see how much happier you are.




Take A Walk... Even to the Mailbox 

Spending just 10-15 minutes outside can raise your overall happiness level. There is something about being outside that triggers the human brain to be happy. Try to take a walk several times a week. Notice the small things around you as you walk. Animals, sounds, trees moving, etc.




Schedule ?Me? Time

Admit it .... you probably tend to put yourself last, don?t you? It?s easy to do when you have limited time and lots of demands. Stop putting yourself last! Self care replenshes your mind, body, and soul so you can more fully be there for others. 



It?s time to make caring for yourself a priority. Schedule it into your calendar if you must. Start by taking 10 minutes to hole up in your favorite spot and read a book for thirty minutes if you like. The important thing is that you take time for yourself and do so often.


These examples are only a few of the simple ways you can increase your overall happiness. There are many others you can employ. Listen to your favorite podcast. Meet a friend for coffee once a week. The possibilities are endless. Focus on enjoying your life one small moment at a time, and you?ll be much happier.
